Dragon Head

GoTaLL is one of Sweden's most prolific modders, churning out A-grade mods like no-one else. DreamHack is almost upon us once again, and GoTaLL has been hard at work producing a series of mods to take to the event. This case is a public worklog in the
bit-tech forum, and the results are already looking pretty spectacular.
After a session helping his brother to build a garage, our intrepid modder discovered that there was a lot of styrofoam left over - and this formed the basis for the sculpting. Using a hot wire cutter and some fairly vigorous sanding, the shape of the case starts to come together.
With the layers of styrofoam built up, you can see how the flat sheets of foam become a sculpture.
Every dragon needs a suitably menacing set of teeth, and some fibreglass modelling putty squeezed into bits of piping provide the basic shape. Some modelling paints complete the look - nice and yellow, after many years of chewing mortals.
The skin obviously has to be scaly - it's a dragon, right? - and so GoTaLL had to mark out the best way to sculpt the skin detailing. His comment - "Don't try this at home... it takes so much time, and this is just a small part." We suspect that there is plenty more to be done before it's finished, too!
This case is now almost finished, and the worklog is almost done too - you should check out the near-final pics over in
the thread.
